The Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Salaga South Constituency of the Savannah Region Hajia Zuweira Ibrahimah has today Saturday 23rd May, 2020 presented food items to support the less-privileged and the aged in the… Salaga South Constituency as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

The food items donated include one hundred (100) 5kg bags of rice, eight (8) cartons of mackerel, ten (10) cartons of frytol cooking oil and five (5) cartons of tomato puree.

Similar donations were made to the prison service to ensure their inmates are not left out of the celebrations. They also received ten (10) 5kg bags of rice, two (2) cartons each of frytol cooking oil, tomato puree and canned fish.

Earlier in the week, Hajia had distributed some provisions to the aged and the less-privileged. Items distributed included; sixty (60) cartons of Milo, fifty boxes of Lipton tea, thirty (30) boxes of Nido and fifty (50) boxes of sachet sugar to help alleviate their needs as they travelled the final stretch of the month-long Ramadan.

Hajia Zuweira Ibrahimah indicated that, she decided to celebrate the sallah with the vulnerable in her Constituency in order to give them the sense of belonging they deserved and to reduce the hardship on them as a result of the general hardship in the country.

She intimated that COVID-19 has come with its challenges in that many households have lost income because of the pandemic.

She associated strongly with some of her colleague parliamentary candidates who have undertaken similar interventions to alleviate the suffering of their constituents, noting, in particular, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu who has decided to pay the May 2020 salaries of all private school teachers in his constituency as well as the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Awaso West Wuogon Constituency John Dumelo who alao provided data bundles to students at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

“Such pragmatic leadership is what is needed at this critical time of COVID-19,” Hajia intimated.

In a short speech to present the food items, Hajia Marian Sinare said as a member of Hajia Zuwera’ s campaign team, she can attest to Hajia Zuwera’s leadership qualities and knows that together with all the good people of Salaga South Constituency, they will work hard to deliver victory to Hajia Zuweira and John Mahama on December 7th.

She said Hajia Zuwera will work hard to bring development and relief to the people of Salaga when she’s elected as the MP.

It would be recalled that, Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah made an earlier donation of 210 bags of sugar on Tuesday 28 April, 2020 to support the Muslim Ummah during this year’s fasting.

Today’s presentations were done on behalf of Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah by Hajia Mariam Sinare, a former deputy National Women’s Organiser of the NDC, Madam Fati Doshie, Madam Abuyanma, NDC constituency executives and senior party members of the Salaga South Constituency.
