The Koforidua Circuit Court ‘A’ has remanded into Police custody a 28-year-old suspected armed robber, Daniel Dzidzor, and has also issued bench warrant for the arrest of his accomplice popularly known as Boys Abre, a notorious criminal.

Dzidzor is a salesman with Aduboafo Co.Ltd and stays in Koforidua- Nsukwao. The suspects are alleged to be part of a four-member armed robbery gang terrorizing residents of Asokore in the Eastern region and are believed to be involved in recent robbery on two Nigerians and a Ghanaian in Asokore community.

The two suspects have been charged for conspiracy to commit crime to wit robbery and Robbery.

The  Prosecutor,Chief Inspector Solomon Keelson presenting the fact of the case indicated that, complainants in this case are Christian Tetteh,a Building contractor,Andem Ita Bassey and Tracy Ogoe,both Nigerian nationals living in the house at Asokore -Koforidua.

The Prosecutor said ,on March 31,2017, at about 2am ,four masked armed men invaded the apartment of the complainants  and broke into their rooms and robbed them at gunpoint ,several belongings which include HP Laptop,LCD 27 inches Sumsung Plasma Television,eight gigabyte pen drives,one wrist watch,pair of black shoes, one hard drive ,iPhone 5X bold Mobile Phone,one Nokia Lumia mobile Phone,one Orlg branded mobile phone all valued at Ghc3000 .The armed robbers also made away with ghc250 and 2000 Naira.

Chief Inspector Keelson explained further that,the armed robbers proceeded to complainant Christian Tetteh’s room and in similar modus operandi,attacked and robbed him of one Motorola mobile phone, a Nokia mobile phone,two Techno Phones,one MPEG4 strong decoder.The armed robbers also took away ghc800 cash from the room of the complainant,all totaling a tune of Ghc2,210.

The Prosecutor said,the complainants lodged complaints at the Effiduase Police Station and while investigation was ongoing, Police had tip off that, Daniel Dzidzor,has sent a Motorola Mobile Phone to Ultimate Phone Shop located in Koforidua for decoding.

He said ,the suspect was arrested but mentioned the name of Boys Abre, now at large for being the owner of the phone who intended to sell the phone to him at Ghc170.

Dzidzor was cautioned and charged with the offence hence pleaded to court to remand him for further investigations while Police launch manhunt for arrest of his accomplice now at large.
