Elrad Salifu Amoako, the 16-year-old son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, the General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, is expected to be arraigned before a juvenile court in Accra on Friday, November 1, 2024, asaaseradio.com reports.

Additionally, Elrad is expected to be charged with manslaughter by the court, marking his first appearance since being discharged from the hospital, following the tragic accident at East Legon that he was at the center of.

Elrad’s parents, Salifu and Mouha Amoako, were previously arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allowing their underage son to drive unsupervised, resulting in the tragic deaths of two 12-year-old girls at East Legon on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Police investigations have identified Elrad Amoako as the suspect driver of a Jaguar SUV with the registration number GN 7801 20, which had one other occupant.

Elrad reportedly collided with a four-wheel-drive Acura vehicle, with registration number GR 2542 23, driven by Joseph Ackah and carrying four other occupants, on Mensah Wood Avenue at East Legon.

Meanwhile, the Accra Circuit Court has granted Salifu Amoako and his wife bail of GH¢50,000 with sureties after being charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive, in violation of traffic regulations.

The third arrested suspect, Linda Linda Bonsu, a sales representative, was also granted bail in the same amount.

All three have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Elrad's reported court appearance contradicts his doctor's directive stating that he is unfit for police interrogation.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, it noted that Elrad was admitted to UGMC on October 12 with severe injuries, including an open ankle dislocation, facial lacerations, and a period of unconsciousness.

The UGMC also specified that he will be reviewed on an outpatient basis, emphasising that his current health condition does not allow him to be transported to the police station.
