Salifu Mohammed elected President of IUCG Humanitarian Foundation

Mr Salifu Mohammed, a third year student of Islamic University College of Ghana (IUCG) has been elected the new President of Humanitarian Foundation of the University’s Chapter.

He polled 20 votes out of the total 34 votes cast to beat his contestant, Mr Mudi Yakobu who obtained 14 votes in elections conducted by Humanitarian Foundation, Ghana, the mother organisation at the school premises in Accra.

Miss Rashida Yakubu was elected unopposed as the Vice President, while Mr Ibrahim Farakhan Nii Adjei was also elected Director of Programmes.

The election was supervised by Mr Dawda Adams, Executive Director of the Foundation and other Electoral Officials of the School.

Mr Adams said, the new executives will manage the affairs of the Chapter of the school for two terms and hoped that the executives would work hard to help reduce poverty and malaria cases in the country.

He urged them to help improve health and academic standard of the students to promote the objectives of Organisation.

Mr Mohammed in his acceptance speech thanked the students for the confidence reposed in them and promised to cooperate with them towards the achievement of the aims and objective of the Foundation.

Dr Nana Kobina Erbyyn, head of Business Administration of the school, advised the executives and other contestants to bury their differences and work as a team towards the success of Foundation.**
