The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, has said the party’s Regional Secretary, Sam Pyne couldn’t have landed a better appointment than the Kumasi Abattoir job.

Samuel Pyne and Communications Director of the party Kwasi Kyei a fortnight ago were given government appointment to serve on the board of Kumasi Abattoir which falls under SSNIT.

The two were recognized after the party’s foot soldiers, and serial callers started questioning the basis for their neglect by the government appointing authority after 2016 elections victory.

Checks from the regional office of the party say, the two, received their formal appointments through Dr. Kwame Addo Kuffour, Board Chairman of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) about three months ago.

A source in the regional office of the party disclosed that Mr Pyne was disappointed in the appointment but couldn’t reject it because of the respect he has for the former Defence Minister Dr. Addo Kuffour when he broke the news to him.

The two board members of the Kumasi Abattoir are entitled to 200 Ghana Cedis allowance per each sitting. Again they are also entitled to a weekly package of meat from the Kumasi Abattoir.

Commenting on Mr Pyne’s appointment, Chairman Wontumi said the party is excited over the appointment and grateful to President Nana Akufo Addo for the honour done the hardworking party scribe.

“Sam Pyne’s popularity has soared with this appointment, he has fans all over the place now. As we prepare ourselves for the extraordinary National Conference later this month, I can assure you that there’ll be lots of meat to eat when we meet with Sam Pyne in the helm of affairs. Even when we’re reciting the Lord’s pray we only ask God for two things, to give us our daily bread and to forgive us our trespasses. So when you have food like Sam Pyne has, then he must be okay. It’s a good appointment that has been made.”
