Samira Bawumia, Second Lady of Ghana, has reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding technological innovation and youth development in the country.

Speaking at a mammoth durbar at Mpohor in the Mpohor Fiase district of the Western Region, she said this is in line with the Bawumia-Napo digitization project to empower one million youths when the NPP wins the 2024 elections.

“Our government will train more people to engage in digitization jobs, improve their incomes, and be competitive in the global field of technology," the Second Lady announced amid thunderous applause from party supporters.

She said the welfare of women will be prioritized so as to enable them to improve through skill training, adding that “this represents the surest way of increasing their incomes and better livelihoods.”

Samira Bawumia appealed to the people to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the MP for the constituency, John Abbam Sanie, to continue the good work that they have already started.

“I’m aware of the problems this constituency is experiencing, and together we will work hard to solve them," she said.

She said Dr. Bawumia’s victory will be felt in terms of the development and growth of the country's democracy, urging the electorate to join hands with her to maintain the NPP government as “we prepare to break the 8-year cycle of tenure. I will do my best for all women so that together we can build Ghana to give us the development that we deserve."

She reechoed the excellent track records of Dr. Bawumia and the MP and emphasized the linkage of dual victories in the December 7 elections.

Navigating through a cacophony of African drumbeats and dancing by teeming party members and people from all walks of life, the Second Lady exchanged pleasantries with the teeming crowd, bringing to an end her historic visit to the Mpohor Fiase constituency.

Present at the durbar were the Western regional minister, Mp for Takoradi, Kobby Otchere Darko, Ndede Nsiah, NPP Western regional chairman, constituency polling station executives, Mpohor constituency NPP executives, NPP’s women wings, people from diverse geographical locations, and multicultural backgrounds.
