Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Local Government Services at the Office of the President, on Joy "Newsfile" programme, whipped the Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi, after the latter labelled the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party a "liar".

Sammy Gyamfi, commenting on the show, recounted some promises that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made to Ghanaians but, to him, he has failed to fulfil them, therefore making him a liar.

He cited Dr. Bawumia's pledge to build an airport in Cape Coast in the Central Region but the Region is yet to see the project in fruition.

Sammy Gyamfi further fired shots at the NPP flagbearer, asking Dennis Miracles "Why would you come and sit here and lie that we have stolen your promise or policy when it was contained in our 2020 manifesto at the time Bawumia was not even contesting for President?"

"If they are so lazy that they can't read our manifesto before they come and lie, at least what about checking on the internet? You come and sit here, this is your stock-in-trade", he emphasized.

Dennis Miracles, who is also the Head of Communications of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's campaign team, rebutted Sammy Gyamfi's claims by rather exposing his lies.

To him, Sammy Gyamfi and his cohort deliberately frame stories and will do anything to mislead the public so far as it will help them achieve their aim of tarnishing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's image.

He found it demeaning for Sammy Gyamfi to call Dr. Bawumia a "liar".

"This gentleman has consistently been lying and lying about so many things in this country. He's done it without...blinking and then he comes back, has the effrontery to call the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana names and call him a liar and he goes back to his bureau, sits down with his group and they orchestrate, scheming the algorithm online to actually plant and make the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana a liar.

"This is the person but he sits on TV and lies without even blinking and he fabricates stories and I think sometimes he is not speaking to us. I think usually he is speaking to his followers. He speaks to them; they cut videos, put it online and then it is exciting," he replied.

Dennis also pointed out that Sammy Gyamfi had claimed the NDC introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme, therefore setting the record straight, said; "And so let's put it on record, completely lied when he said they introduced National Health Insurance Scheme. That is a falsehood and I've quoted their own budget statement to buttress the point."

He further rebuked the NDC stating "You don’t call the Vice President a liar when you have no basis…I have just shown you 280 promises made by the President of the Republic of Ghana in 2012, John Mahama His Excellency that, as President, he was going to fulfill these things. Out of the 280, he did not do 191 of them...For whatever reason, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has never been President. Even him, you call him a liar”.

Dennis cautioned them to desist from the personal attacks stressing "I am very hesitant in calling the former President because I am an Akuapem guy but I take complete exception from him and his followers by the consistent denigration of the Vice President of the Republic without provocation."
