Former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Public Administration, Governance, and Leadership from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
He was among five individuals who received PhD degrees at GIMPA's 24th Congregation, held under the theme “Strengthening Partnership for Impact.”
Ofosu-Ampofo's doctoral thesis focused on “Democratic Politics and Political Vigilantism in Ghana’s Fourth Republic.”
His research utilised data from 46 owners and members of vigilante groups, civil society organisations (CSOs), state security agencies, and beneficiaries of vigilante activities.
The study recommended a collaborative effort from all stakeholders to combat the issue.
The other PhD recipients included Thomas Akrofi, Elvis Kwame, Elvis Kwame Agyapong, Cornelius Yao Azumah, and Nathaniel Blankson, who presented their research in various fields of study.
