Alhaji Bature Iddrissu, Managing Editor of the Al Hajj Newspaper has endorsed calls for the sanctioning of Former President Jerry John Rawlings and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Martin B.K Amidu by the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He observed that the recent utterances of the two are not in the general interest of the party and that they should be sanctioned now to avert any further damage.

“They should not see themselves as indispensable………NPP sacked their top officials yet have gone ahead to win an election and have cured that myth you cannot win an election with certain people”, he said

“Rawlings knows he has lost grips on the party that is why he is out there attacking party and its leadership. As for Martin Amidu he is attacking the party and its executives out of sheer envy and jealousy because he was not made a running mate but rather John Dramani “, he revealed on Okay FM.

On comments of former Deputy Chief of Staff , Dr Valerie Sawyerr’s about corrupt acts involving Former President Jerry John Rawlings, he said she only spoke the truth and there is nothing wrong with the comments.

Alhaji Bature Iddrissu on Tuesday disclosed that the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot accuse member of the party of being corrupt when he received $5 million dollars from Nigerian military leader Sani Abacha , who served as head of state between 1993 and 1998.

“He confessed to me that the amount he received was $5 million dollars and not $2 million. He openly told me this and I dare tell him that he received stolen money from a thief. How much was he as head of State receiving at the time as salary that he could gift you such an amount? What work did Rawlings do for Abacha that he gifted him that amount”, he asked on Okay Fm

He said the amount was the cause of the rift between he (Rawlings) and the former National Chairman of the party Dr Obed Asamoah leading to his breaking away from the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP).
