The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region have said they participated in the Electoral Commission’s (EC) pilot voter registration exercise in order to expose the problems and failures associated with the exercise.

Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi FM on the morning show on Wednesday 3rd June, 2020, Mr Abudulai said it is clear the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has connived with the EC to rig the 2020 Election.

He said the NDC’s order to all regional executives to participate in the pilot exercise is the best thing to have happened to the party. He disclosed that Regional Executives were to told to observe the “time it takes for a voter to go through the registration process, the process of guarantorships and the time it takes” and can confidently say the EC failed in all at Damongo.

“The EC’s limited Registration exercise in the Savannah regional capital Damongo as a big failure and that it is clear the EC was not on top of issues” he said.

Mr Abudulai also explained that the software for the piloting exercise in Damongo keep breaking down, the biometric registration slow because of network issues with guarantorship problematic.

He disclosed that the system rejected some of the people that went to vouch or guarantee for others making the exercise slow and time consuming.

Mr Inusah said the whole exercise in Damongo was a failure and that the Electoral Commission is not ready for this exercise but are being forced to do it by the NPP.

The Savannah Region NDC Organiser said the party will surely resist the EC’s plans to rig the 2020 election.
