Koforidua, March 14, GNA - The collaboration of the European Union (EU) and the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA)Church in the education sector, had led to the provision of a 108 million cedis three-unit classroom block including a store, staff common room and a toilet facility for Suhyen community in the Koforidua Municipality.
The EU contributed 75 million cedis under its micro project while the SDA provided 33 million cedis for its local mission school project. Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, said in a speech read on his behalf at the inaugural ceremony that in a bid to achieve sustainable development and reduce poverty, government had taken human resource development as one of it's priorities in the Development Agenda.
The Eastern Regional Manageress of the SDA Educational Unit, Ms Mary Aniwah called on parents not to relent in their efforts to provide quality education to their wards.
The EU Project Manger, Mr Kwaku Osarfo pledged the commitment of his Union to provide more development projects in the Region especially in the rural areas.
