Mrs Margaret Amoakohene, a lecturer at the School of Communication Studies ( SCS), today stated that the post graduate diploma studies organised by the school will be run on part time basis as from the year 2000. On the second day of the anniversary programmes lined up for the 25th anniversary of School, Mrs Amoakohene speaking on "SCS and Communication in Business", said a masters programme will instead be run on a full time bases. The school has realised it cannot scrap off the graduate diploma, because it will serve the business community who cannot make time to take up full time academic courses, she said. "The programme will therefore be organised on semester vacation or in the evenings." The school will support the business community in areas of undertaking research. Miss Audrey Gadzekpo, a lecturer at the school, said communication is very pervasive in all business organisations and therefore should not be overlooked. The school hopes to hold a job fair to help businesses pick up the kind of personnel they want from the school, she said.. "The fair is to allow chief executives to interact with students and lecturers to help identify those they require." The theme for the celebrations is "Broadcasting in the next millennium."
