Scores rendered homeless by rainstorm

Begoro, March 24, GNA- Over 150 people have been rendered homeless and properties worth millions of cedis destroyed following a rainstorm that hit Begoro on Saturday.

Twelve houses including the District Health Management Team (DHMT) offices and the AME Zion JSS had their roofs ripped off. Speaking to GNA at Begoro, Mr Kwame Appiah Kodua, the Fanteakwa District Co-ordinator of the National Disaster management Organization (NADMO), said the storm also damaged high-tension electric cables that resulted in black out in some parts of the town.

He said NADMO would liaise with the district assembly and provide roofing materials to the victims to re-roof their buildings before the onset of the heavy rains.
