Takoradi, Feb. 15, GNA - Mr. Jude Hama, General Director of the Scripture Union, On Monday pledged the group's support for programmes tha= t seek the wellbeing and development of the people especially the youth. He called on the youth to strive to attain academic excellence and b= e dedicated to national development. Mr. Hama was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency aft= er a two-day evangelistic programme at the Ghana Secondary Technical School in Takoradi. Twenty Senior High Schools within the country participated in the programme that discussed topics including "Jesus freedom, real freedom", "Jesus love, true love" and "The best valantine of the world". Mr. Hama said the Scripture Union reached out to 1,500 students of t= he School and 508 of them expressed the desire to be counselled in areas suc= h as academic, moral and spiritual development. He said: "Scripture Union is in partnership with the state towards t= he wellbeing of the youth who constitute the majority of the population of t= he nation". He said as part of the celebration of 120 years of existence, the Un= ion would hold spiritual renewal conferences and retreat across the country a= nd it also re-launch the Bible campaign towards the spread of Christianity. 15 Feb. 10
