Dr Kwame Bawuah-Edusei, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States extends his positive New Year Message to all in the Diaspora, especially Ghanaians resident in the U.S. and wish God's Blessings to all Ghanaians.
In a speech themed 'Ghana Renaissance’, Ambassador Dr. Bawuah-Edusei reiterated that the government under President J. A. Kufuor has unquestionably stabilized the country politically and economically.
“Ghana has moved from a deficit of over six billion dollars to a surplus of two billion dollars and the country needs to take off from this stable state. It therefore behooves on all Ghanaians, not only to congratulate ourselves, but also continue to work harder for even better results”.
Ambassador Bawuah-Edusei said we need to improve our maintenance culture and be more customer service oriented. The education system should focus on training our children to be more innovative and assertive.
We should all strive to inculcate our positive cultural values in our children and prepare to go home in the near future to help, adding that, Ghana’s development can effectively take off, only when Ghanaian’s abroad join their kit and kin back home to uplift the motherland.
The Ambassador said, the private sector should be revamped and galvanized to effectively compete in the international arena. The public sector on the other hand should use the impending pay increase, to give their countrymen value for their money.
As we celebrate our 50 years of independence, the Ambassador emphasized that, we should be united, think positive and commence our implementation phase with enthusiasm for we have done enough talking.
