Second Lady assists three hospitals in WR

The Second Lady, Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur has called on corporate entities and philanthropists to help solve societal problems that exist in their various areas, especially health related issues.

She added that the Ministries have a tall list of responsibilities, so the need for them to contribute and give back to society.

Mrs Amissah-Arthur made the point on Monday when she donated quantity of medical equipment and supplies to three hospitals in the western valued at millions of cedis, thus the Juaboso Hospital in the Juaboso Bia District in Sefwi Juaboso, Bibiani Government Hospital in the Anhwiaso – Bekwai District, Sefwi Wiaso Municipal hospital and the Methodist Primary School in Dwinase in the Sefwi Wiaso Municipality.

Donating the Equipments in the various Districts and municipalities, the Second Lady called on the administrators and staff of the hospital to take very good care of the equipments so that it can last.

She commended the hospital and staffs for the good job that they are doing and encouraged them to do more to ensure quality healthcare for the country, especially managing childhood illnesses and also discuss sanitation issues with them.

In her vision to help put smiles on the faces of the children, Mrs Amissah-Arthur has taken it upon herself to do this donations and also help raise awareness about the critical maternal issues in the country, especially maternal health for children and their mothers in the country.

The Second Lady is someone who has been working hard by going round to the various regions in the country to contribute her quota to the improvement of quality health care delivery in the country through her own initiative, especially working to increase access to quality maternal and infant health services in Ghana.

Through her interventionist programs in the area of health care delivery, Mrs. Matilda Amissah- Arthur took the opportunity to educate mothers on the need to seek early maternal health care before their time in order to avoid complications which would lead to maternal deaths and other factors associated with it.

Earlier on the same day, the Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur presented library books, a set of computers and two laptops to the Methodist Primary school in Dwinase in in the Sefwi Wiaso Municipality of the Western Region.

Mrs. Matilda Amissah -Arthur, a Professional librarian over the years has made constant effort at seeing that children, not only enroll, but also read and complete school and prayed that God will continue to assist in the noble venture.

Donating the books, she called on the pupils to make good use of the books by reading them and called on the headmaster and teachers of the school to use the books as learning tools to aid the children and help them to use the books to enhance their academic performance.

The chiefs and elders in the various areas that she made the donation took the opportunity to thank her for her kind gesture especially in the area of providing resources for quality health care delivery and the supply of educational material in the country and urged her to continue with her good works.

Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur was accompanied by the regional Minister Hon Paul Evans Aidoo and the deputy regional Minister Hon Kow Gyan.
