Security agency recruitment news is fake – Interior Minister

Ministry of the Interior Ministry of the Interior

The Ministry of the Interior under whose supervision Ghana’s security agencies operate has issued a statement debunking information circulating on various social media platforms about the recruitment into the service.

According to the ministry, every information regarding recruitment into the service will be communicated through the Dailies.

It therefore advises the public to disregard any information for recruitment which is not released by the appropriate agency through the dailies and should be also wary of any person or group of persons who claim to be recruiting for or on behalf of any agency under the Ministry of the Interior.

Below is the full statement released by the Ministry of the Interior.

RECRUITMENT INTO THE SECURITY AGENCIES

The Ministry of the Interior has noted with concern news making rounds that the Security Agencies under the Ministry are conducting recruitment exercise.

The Ministry wishes to inform the General Public that no Agency under the Ministry of the Interior would undertake a recruitment exercise without advertising in the Dailies.

The General Public is therefore informed that no Agency under the Ministry of the Interior namely:

• The Ghana Police Service

• The Ghana National Fire Service

• The Ghana Immigration Service and

• The Ghana Prisons Service

are recruiting personnel to fill various positions.

The General Public is, hereby, advised to be wary of any persons or group of persons claiming to recruit into the security services.

Any such person or group of persons purporting to recruit into the Security Agencies should be reported to the nearest Police Station.

Thank you.
