Combined security officials are currently held up in a meeting at the Peduase Presidential Lodge in the Eastern Region to devise a roadmap in dealing with security issues in the country, especially issues with political vigilantism.
The conclusion of the meeting is expected to see the release of what will be called the Peduase or Aburi Declaration.
The meeting comprises ministers of state, security chief analysts, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and others.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Party Coalition on National Sovereignty have taken to the streets of Accra to demonstrate against the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence, demanding that be whip be cracked on masked security men believed to be political vigilantes.
Even though the government has yielded to pressure from state institutions and civil society groups to set up a commission of inquiry to dig into the incident, the Inter-Party Coalition believes it is a move by the government to cover up the suspects.
