Security services in Ho keep vigil in memory of President Mills

Security services in Ho, Wednesday night held a vigil in memory of President John Evans Atta Mills whose body is lying in state at the Banquet Hall of the State House.

The officers and men marched through some principal streets of the regional capital before converging at the Regional Police Training School for the event. The singing of religious songs and dirges attracted some civilians to the event ground who joined in the short memorial service.

Police Chief Inspector Reverend Joseph Agyafi, in a sermon described the late President Mills as a symbol of unity and called on politicians to love each other and to be humble.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Alex Bedie, the Volta Regional Police Commander, said it was important for the security services to pay their last respect to their former Commander In Chief.

He said the life and death of President Mills presented good lessons to the world and appealed to politicians to conduct their campaigns with civility.

DCOP Bedie appealed to personnel of the security services to always be professional in their operations and uphold the virtues of humility and love.

Heads of the security services paid tribute to the late President, describing him as peaceful and humble. **
