Some women have taken the campaign against illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, a notch higher.
In a creative, yet embarrassing way, these women packaged the polluted water from some of the water bodies in the country into sachet bags and were seen on the streets hawking them.
In photos that have been shared by @abeekuacquah on X, they show some of the women with this ‘new brand’ of sachet water, carrying them on their heads.
The women are also pictured in traffic as they attempt to sell this polluted water to passengers in vehicles, as it were.
According to the caption of the video, this was only part of the general campaigns against the illegal mining menace that has continued to destroy many water bodies in the country.
“The mission was very simple today - To show what our drinking water would look like in the next few years should we not #StopGalamseyNow,” the caption read.
Subsequent photos shared by the same user, also show some road users, as they are handed some of this sachet water called ‘Pure Galamsey Water.’
