President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned 320 new ultra-modern housing units for the Ghana Police Service at Tesano, Accra.
The new housing units are part of the broader Security Services Housing Project, a vision that was first conceived in 2018 during President Akufo-Addo’s initial term.
The project aims to provide decent housing for the nation's security personnel.
“These 320 housing units symbolize our resolve to ensure that those who risk their lives daily to protect us have a safe and comfortable place to call home,” he said during the commissioning on July 23, 2024.
The newly completed units at the Tesano Police Training School include 112 two-bedroom apartments and 208 three-bedroom apartments.
The facility also features an officers' mess, a social center, two multipurpose playing courts, and a kindergarten, all designed to enhance the quality of life for police officers and their families.
President Akufo-Addo during the commissioning also congratulated Commissioner of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno on his elevation to Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations.
The President expressed confidence in Deputy IGP Yohuno’s ability to lead and further enhance the efficiency of the police force.
