Sekou Curses Siblings And Mills

By Gifty Arthur

Shortly after breaking the news of his exclusion from a ceremony to unveil a statue of his late father, built by the African Union (AU) in Ethiopia, through a text message to Asempa FM, Dr. Sekou Nkrumah went out of control, virtually cursing President John Mills, his brothers and sister over his exclusion from the Addis Ababa trip.

Sekou, the last son of Africa’s greatest man, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, wrote on his facebook wall on the Internet, telling the world: “I can forgive Atta Mills, but will God forgive him?.”

Hours after that, Sekuo again wrote on his facebook wall, saying his father’s legacy will be shared by his children and that President Mills and his followers would not be able to do anything about that move.

“Nkrumah’s legacy will be shared by all his children, Mills and his cohorts don’t have a say in the matter,” he wrote on the social network platform.

With President Mills’ arrival in Ethiopia, peeved Sekou this time around took his attack on the President to another level, by writing on the facebook wall of the National Security Coordinator, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, saying that “God will punish your wicked master, Atta Mills!”

On Saturday morning while everybody thought Sekou may have calmed down and probably would switch his attention on something else, maybe the Woyome issue; surprisingly, the updated his status again, describing the travelling of his siblings: Prof Francis Nkrumah and Samia Yaba Nkrumah with President Mills as a mere AU tea party.

He noted that he was not bothered about his exclusion as he was in politics for the struggle and liberation of his people from bad leadership.

In the same facebook status on Saturday morning, Sekou did not spare his two siblings, describing their acceptance to travel to Ethiopia as a total contradiction to the very principles that their late father stood for, which enabled him struggle and agitate for political independence.

“I am not in politics for the fanfare, traveling around with the President to an AU tea party. I am in politics for the struggle to liberate my people from bad leadership for which I will stand up against. If the great Nkrumah had behaved like Francis or Samia, the British would still be ruling us,” he said.

After the attack on his two siblings, Sekou went ahead to publicly declared his unflinching support for the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Akufo, and warned his other brother who practices journalism in their mother’s home country Egypt, Gamal Nkrumah not to ever call him his brother again as he has lost respect for him.

“Don’t ever call me a brother; I have lost respect for you”, Sekou wrote.

It is not clear what triggered the attack on his brother but checks on Gamal’s facebook wall showed he had ignored his kid brother.

Sekou served in the Mills Administration as Acting National Coordinator of the National Youth Authority (NYA). He was booted out last year for non-performance by the National Youth Council (NYC), and has since not ceased his harsh criticism of President Mills, including calling him a blind man, a sick person among other derogatory things.

It would be recalled that about a week ago in a radio discussion on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen with Bobie Ansah, the host Dr. Nkrumah described his appointment at the NYA as useless; a statement the Deputy Coordinator of the Authority, Mr. Prince Derrick Adjei took exception to and reacted appropriately and strongly.

While throwing ‘booms’ at President Mills, Sekou is busy writing on his wall, “ Come 2012 NPP will rule and AU or no AU, still all die be die for 2012”.
