The Senya Citizens Association, United Kingdom branch, has donated a quantity of medical consumables, estimated at 15,000 pounds, to the Senya Health Centre Children’s Ward.
The items include washing and medicated soaps, toilet rolls, detergents, syringes, gloves, baby diapers and rubber buckets.
Mr Kwame Easel, the President of the branch Association, who made the presentation, said it forms part of the Association’s contributions towards the development of the community.
He expressed the hope that the items would help relieve the burden on mothers who sometimes found it difficult to provide all the needed items when they visit the Centre.
Mr Andrew Owusu, a Physician at the Centre, thanked the group for the kind gesture and said the items would be used for the intended purposes.
He appealed to other prominent people in the area, philanthropists and non-governmental organisations to extend a helping hand to the Centre to supplement what the Government was providing to improve healthcare services to the people.
