An alleged serial burglar has been arrested by community watch volunteers at Damongo in the Savannah Region after breaking into a provision shop.
The suspect, identified only as Samson, had been the suspect of several break-ins in the area, targeting shops and homes, according to a report by Adomoline.com.
The community watch team, which had been monitoring his activities for some time, trailed him and finally caught him after he broke into a shop through the ceiling.
The suspect, according to the report, admitted to his crime but added that he was with an accomplice who had fled the scene.
Samson, who was caught red-handed with toffees taken from the shop, also mentioned that he resorted to taking the toffees as he could not find what he had intended to steal from the shop.
The suspect has since been handed over to the police in Damongo for investigation and possible prosecution.
