A senior pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) in charge of Kasoa District, Rev. Benjamin Agbotse has urged men, regardless of their position to use their influences as Christian advocates in curbing the rising incidence of moral decadence and lawlessness in the Ghanaian society.
“As parents, husbands, mentors, academicians, and faith actors, we owe it as our responsibility to denounce and curtail the increasing menace of socio-moral decay and acts of lawlessness in the Ghanaian society, particularly among the youth and issues relating to the election of our political leaders,” he lamented.
Rev. Agbotse was speaking at the inauguration of nine-member executives of EPCG Kasoa District Men’s Fellowship. The newly inducted officers include Ex W.O Lucas Novihoho as President, Mr. Robert Klu as Vice President, Mr. Emmanuel Akpaloo as Secretary, and Mr. Paul Atsu Yevuyibor as Treasurer.
“It is unfortunate these unruly, indiscipline, indecent and immoral acts are steadily destroying our human values in every facet of our society, and regrettably creeping into our homes, schools, and churches,” Rev. Agbotse asserted.
Rev. Agbotse entreated the new executive officers to bring on board innovative and realistic initiatives that would enhance decency in Ghanaian society and further transform the Men’s Fellowship into a reputable Christian group, capable of attracting members and making a difference in its stewardship engagements.
He commended the past executive for their spirit of dedication to duty and diligence demonstrated during their tenure in sustaining the Fellowship.
The District Pastor also called on the entire membership of the Fellowship to serve with values of devotion, humility, integrity, and diligence required of them as “Ambassadors of Christ.”
In his acceptance speech on behalf of his colleagues, the newly inducted President of the Fellowship, Ex W.O Lucas Novihoho, pledged to inspire a sense of vibrancy, enthusiasm, and dynamism in the Fellowship’s stewardship duties.
The President of EPCG Meridian Presbytery Men’s Fellowship, Mr. Samuel Akuettey who served as the Chairman of the occasion urged congregational fellowships in the country to team up with the leadership of Churches as effective partners to promote the desired spiritual and physical development of the Church.
