Established first cycle institution, Seven Great Princes Academy are bracing up for this year’s Academic Week Celebration scheduled for Monday at the School (Dansoman) from June 25 to July 1.
Head of Boarding House, Lawrence Tay has said preparations have reached roof level for the event.
He mentioned that the arrival of Gwendolyne Brown, a product of the school and the most decorated English Literature student has raised the stakes in this year’s event.
“The entire school, students, staff and management are ready, and can’t wait for the arrival of one of our own, Gwendolyne, having made Ghana and Seven Great proud in the Queensland,” said Tay.
A massive clean-up exercise is expected to take place at Lartebiorkorshie and Exhibition in Dansoman and its environs on June 26, as part of activities for the event.
On June 27 a special poetry recital, debate, drama and an SHS quiz will be held at the school's premises.
Organisers of the event have put together a team of medical practitioners (Old students) to screen and sensitize current students on health issues on June 28.
On June 29, old students of the school will avail themselves to offer inspirational talks to the students aimed at maintaining the great name of the school.
There would be a Speech and Prize Giving Day on June 30, at when Gwendolyne would be expected to make a special speech and present prizes to deserving students.
A Thanksgiving Service would be held on July 1 to thank God and crown the ceremony.
In 2014, Gwendolyne scored 100% in English Literature at the Advance Subsidiary Level in UK, which enabled her to pursue a double degree program at University of Southampton.
