About 10 acres of farms have been destroyed after a Dam belonging beverage company Blue Skies burst at Imfrebim near Oboadaka in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region.
The incident led to the flooding of the dam environment affecting farms of 12 farmers and also damaging the road network in the area.
Officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have visited the scene for assessment.
The Akuapem South District Operations Officer of NADMO Emmanuel Donkor told Starr News the cause of the incident is being investigated as the organization works to seek compensation for the affected farmers.
The affected farmers are demanding compensation from Blue Skies Company to mitigate the financial loss.
Meanwhile, residents in the community say the construction of the Dam has affected their source of potable drinking water.
