President John Mahama will not waste his time taking action against maverick politician Ken Agyepong, after the latter alleged that the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei exchanged sex for her position, the NDC has said.

According to the National Women Organizer of the party, Hajia Joyce Mahama, Hon. Ken Agyepong is not worthy of a response from President Mahama in relation to this baseless allegation.

Her comments comes in the wake of the comments by the National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party Otiko Afisa Djaba who has called on the BNI to probe the relationship between President John Mahama and the chairperson of the Electoral Commission Charlotte Osei.

According to Otiko, the wave of protests that have greeted allegations by Kennedy Agyepong that the EC boss exchanged her womanhood for the position is unnecessary.

Addressing NPP supporters in Koforidua in the Eastern region, the NPP Women’s leader said there could be some truth in the claims by the eccentric politician.

“The critical issue is that an allegation has been made against the President of Ghana. The allegation is that there is something between the President and Charlotte Osei, and that is what I expect the BNI and the national security to investigate. Because we are going into an election and if it is true that the EC boss has an affair with the President, then it is a big issue. And I think it is a legitimate question, we need the answer.

“In fact, it is worrying considering the fact that some NDC communicators have now become spokespersons for the EC…there is no smoke without fire. A referee who has an association with the President will automatically take a stance that will favor the president in this election. This matter must not be swept under the carpet, let us investigate this matter,” she noted.

But speaking to Kasapa News, Hajia Joyce Mahama stated that she expected her NPP counterpart to have been the first person to have condemned the shameful comments of the NPP Member of Parliament.

She said President Mahama will not be the last person to be accused in this way as Nana Akufo Addo suffered the similar accusation.

“When it was rumoured that Hon. Ursula Owusu was Nana Akufo Addo’s girlfriend, the NPP Flagbearer never came out to deny. Nana Akufo Addo didn’t sue his accusers, hence President Mahama will not respond to this rumour just as AkufoAddo did. He will not also sue Kennedy Agyepong, he’s has better important things doing for Ghana.”
