Whether the murderers of the late Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, JB Danquah-Adu belong to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC), justice must be served, Spokesperson for the late MP’s family, George Amoah, has said.
Mr Daniel Asiedu, also known as ‘Sexy Dondon’, the prime suspect standing trial for the murder of the late lawmaker, had told the court on Wednesday, 21 June that he was contracted by people within the governing NPP to kill the politician, who was a member of the same party.
The suspect told the District Court presided over by Her Worship Arit Nsemoh that his "contractors" told him to indict certain persons in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) instead of the NPP in the event of his arrest.
The late J.B Danquah-Adu was murdered at his Shiashie residence on 9 February 2016. The hitman gained access to the MP’s bedroom by climbing a ladder.
Speaking on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM Thursday, 21 June, Mr Amoah said: “This Daniel Asiedu boy has always been shifting the goal post since this case started. First, he said he only went to rob the MP and not to kill him, now he is saying he was contracted to kill the MP.
“For us as a family, we want justice to be served. Whether the killers belong to the NPP or the NDC or YPY or VWP or SMS or YVA, all we want is the truth.”
He added: “We thank President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for ensuring that this case continues for justice to be done.”
