The Executive Director of the Youth Alliance for Development, Mr. Ali Tanti Robert is admonishing the youth to stay away from being used by some politicians to cause violence in some part of the country to show a disapproval of the Presidents nominee of MMDCEs.
Speaking in an interview with Obuasitoday.com, the Youth advocate called on people who may disagree with the President to show it devoid of physical attacks and abusive language.
There have been several reports of youth groups mainly from the governing New Patriotic Party vandalizing properties and demonstrating to reject people assigned to serve as Chief Executive in their respective Districts.
He argues that such agitation is archaic and only serve as a dent on the image of the democratic credentials of the Country since there are several spaces for engagement including voting against the nominee.
Mr. Ali Tanti believes that these young people are only being used to do the bidding of some adults who might have not caught the eyes of the President in his selection.
“Some of the disappointed aspirant may be hiding behind the back of the youth to foment trouble so such people must be traced if the security officials want to do proper investigation” he said.
He rather want the youth to redirect their energies into advocating for greater participation in the running of governance at the local level to avert the numerous challenges facing the Ghanaian youth.
