A presidential staffer, Krobea Kwabena Asante, has dismissed calls for his arrest by security analyst Dr. Adam Bonaa.

This follows Asante's posting a thumb-printed ballot paper on his Facebook page, revealing how security officers voted during the Special Voting exercise on Monday, December 2, 2024, ahead of the general elections scheduled for December 7, 2024.

He captioned his post: "The way the security officers are voting #1 deɛ asem ooo."

Speaking on TV3 on Monday afternoon, Dr. Adam Bonaa called for Krobea Kwabena Asante's arrest, stating that his actions violated electoral laws.

He emphasised that, as a staffer at the Presidency, Asante should set a better example and avoid engaging in unlawful conduct.

In response, Krobea Kwabena Asante took to Facebook to react to the calls for his arrest. He criticised Dr. Adam Bonaa for not demanding the arrest of former President Mahama, who had also publicly displayed his thumb-printed ballot paper during the 2020 general elections.

Asante wrote: "Adam Bonaa, my friend Grumah, why didn't you call for the arrest of your presidential candidate, Mr. Mahama, when he showed his vote during the 2020 national election? If you don't have any important issues to discuss, focus on your security flashlight business and stop pretending to be a security expert. You're upset because most security officers have embraced the Possibilities Campaign. I'm ready for you anytime."
