Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has asked the General Secretaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to pipe down on their commentary on court proceedings at the Supreme Court regarding the election petition suit.
He also wants the media to desist from the practice of interviewing the two general secretaries after proceedings in the Supreme Court.
Describing the two as a "walking disaster", the seasoned journalist besieged them to allow Ghanaians watch and grasp happenings at the Supreme Court by themselves and not go about misinforming the public.
“They are a walking disaster, when it comes to the court proceedings and what is happening in there. I thank God we are watching this live, those two are not being fair to us”, Kwaku Baako said.
Contributing to discussions on Thursday’s edition of Metro TV’s "Good Morning Ghana" show, the newspaper editor said: “Sir John, is a lawyer and should even appreciate those things (court proceedings) better; but it is even better he is quiet…Asiedu Nketia is a walking disaster when it comes to the court proceedings and what to tell us in terms of what is happening there. His (Asiedu Nketia) ignorance is manifest in his presentation and I thank God we are watching this thing live”.
According to him, there is a deep chasm between what is shown on television and utterances of the two general secretaries regarding what actually transpired in the courtroom.
"There is a big contradiction...This live coverage is a cure for the mischief that both parties are trying to play now. Listen to these two general secretaries when they come out to talk or give comments on the court proceedings and ask whether they are being fair to us,” he added.
