Public Relations Officer of the Ga Dangme community in the diaspora has ordered Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta to sign documents presented to him months ago into waiver in order to get their hospital equipment cleared for Ghanaians perusal.
In a video gone viral on social media, she accused the finance minister of wasting time in signing the documents so they can distribute the items to the various institutions that need them.
She angrily said, “sign that paper and let’s clear the things and distribute it in Ghana. Sign it now!”. “What is wrong with these people, do you want our people to die? Who are you ruling over and who are you catering for in Ghana?” she quizzed.
According to her, the items shipped contain hospital beds, wheelchairs among others to help solve the high mortality rate recurring in the country.
The high number of people sleeping on floors in various hospitals triggered the contribution of the hospital materials by the Ga Dangme’s in the diaspora to save lives of these loved ones.
She said, “My friends, family and loved ones are sleeping on the bare floors in hospitals and we in the diaspora are trying to raise funds to help curb this menace in …why waste time on important things that you have to do”.
This angry woman stated that the ‘lackadaisical’ attitude of the finance minister is causing them to incur more charges in the clearing of the goods.
“Now that the thing has been on his desk for over a month and… has gone into demurrage. Who is going to pay that money?” she questioned the finance minister.
