National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s COVID-19 technical team member, Dr. Gyawu Appiah has said in an interview that the praises and worship from members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other allied groups will not help the president to fight the world's deadly pandemic, coronavirus.

According to the doctor, what the president needs now is ideas that will help in the fight against the virus.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Friday, March 3, 2020, met leaders of the various political parties in the country to seek their views on measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in Ghana.

Chairmen and General Secretaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), Progressive Peoples’ Party (PPP), Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Peoples National Convention (PNC) and others were present.

Speaking with Citizen Kofi Owusu on Ahotor FM morning show, Dr. Gyawu Appiah said he was disappointed in their meeting because apart from NDC, what all the political parties could do was to heap praises and worship on Akufo-Addo.

“At the meeting, I was disappointed because all they did was to praise the president, but the worship and praises will not help the president, it is only NDC that presented the president with ideas. The rest were singing praises and worship,” he said.
