Sir John called National Security to request for ambulance

Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie according to the informer newspaper is the one who called the national security to report the accident of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and request for an ambulance to be on standby when the later arrived at the Kotoka international airport.

Mr Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party had accused President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of plotting to kill the 2012 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in an accident that happened in bole last Saturday.

According to Sir John, his suspicion of the plot is grounded on the fact that two ambulances were sent to the airport to carry the “corpse” of Akufo-Addo’s running mate when he arrived at the airport after being flown in from Kumasi for emergency treatment.

Painstaking investigation by this paper has revealed that, it was Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, a.k.a. Sir John, who personally called the top echelon of the National Security, to report Bawumia’s accident and beg for ambulances to be detailed to speedily move Dr. Bawumia from the Kotoka International Airport, to the Lista Hospital.

From the paper’s investigations, Sir John has a personal relationship with the top echelon of the National Security outfit, and has been consistently asking for favours in support of the NPP, like the Bawumia case.

“Sir John is our friend and calls us very often for one help or the other; a source told The Informer.

He called us sounding very worried, and said that Dr. Bawumia was involved in a near-fatal accident somewhere around Bole Bamboi, and that, they had organised other vehicles to rush him to Kumasi to be flown to Accra”; the source added.

According to the source, Sir John actually requested for a helicopter to be despatched to pick up Bawumia, but when he was told that would not be possible, he requested for an ambulance to be on standby to speedily move Bawumia to the hospital.

“When he made the request, we agreed and told him that a certain WO1 Tetteh, would be at the airport and ready with the ambulance, that is why he knows that name and keeps on mentioning it”; the source said.

Apparently, Sir John confessed to the paper’s source that he had to quickly come out and blame the NDC for the accident, because some of his people were not happy that he had informed National Security about the accident and had even gone ahead to request for help.

“He confessed that his people were not happy with him for informing us, and so he had to quickly come out and play politics with the matter”; the source told this paper.

Asked whether Sir John’s request for help included financial help, the source refused to answer.

“All I can say is that Sir John calls us for help every now and then”; the source said sternly.
