Sir John can't accept an endorsement which does not exist

We are compelled to follow up, and strongly deny, the blatant lies and propaganda coming from a web-based source, Ghana News Outlet, that Sir John has accepted Yaw Buaben Asamoa’s endorsement.

Particularly, when there has been no such endorsement, we wonder how can Sir John accept it. The stories from the said source seek to confuse delegates with lies about Yaw Buaben Asamoa supposed withdrawal from the General Secretary’s race. In fact, it is a dead on arrival strategy by a rather weak candidate whose campaign has clearly been rejected by the rank and file of the Party.

These untrue stories are designed to enhance the failing campaign of the incumbent General Secretary who should take steps to dissociate himself if he is to remain credible in the race. We are also informed that certain persons are going around the country inducing delegates on Sir John’s behalf, which inducement has resulted in further disapproval of his candidature by delegates.

The YB Campaign Team wishes to assure the thousands of delegates supporting YB and Party sympathizers that their belief in Yaw Buaben Asamoa (No. 3 on the ballot paper) would be confirmed with a resounding victory in Tamale on April 12, 2014.

Throughout the campaign, delegates have told Yaw Buaben Asamoa that he is competent and loyal to the Party, has a strong personality and is a person with a hands-on experience. Delegates have also informed us that Yaw Buaben’s message of UNITY is the most appropriate in an environment where rival aspirants have thrown caution to the wind by damaging the image of the Party with the actions.

According to the delegates, this is the time to show responsible leadership that places the Party above oneself. YB has made it clear that aspiring leaders of the Party must be responsible and respect the legacy of the NPP, which rejects public abuse and outright propaganda. As a prospective General Secretary, YB’s pledge is to serve, strengthen and uplift the image of the NPP for victory in 2016.

Yaw Buaben will be meeting delegates in the Greater Accra Region from Monday 7th April 2014.

Signed:

The YB Campaign Team
