Sissala West MP holds victory rally in Gwollu

Members of the National Democratic Congress in the Sissala West constituency in the Upper West region at the weekend held a rally to celebrate their victory in the constituency during the December 2012 elections.

This was their first victory in the constituency since it was carved out of the Sissala constituency in 2004.

Addressing the rally, Alhaji Amin Amidu Sulemana, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Constituency thanked his constituents for voting for him and President John Dramani Mahama to win the 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Alhaji Sulemana, who is also the Roads and Highways Minister, also thanked all those who prayed for him to survive the recent shooting incident by a gang of suspected armed robbers along the Gwollu-Fielmua road, in the constituency.

He said since this was the first time the NDC had won the seat it was important to celebrate the victory and urged the supporters to work hard towards victory in the 2016 elections.

He assured that the government was aware of the poor nature of the road network in the region and was working round the clock to source funding to have them fixed.

He called on all political parties to bury their differences and support the government to deliver on its promises for a better society.

Mr. Cezar Kale, former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, said it was through hard work on the part of all party loyalists in the constituency and beyond to win the seat.

Mr. Kale used the occasion to comfort his supporters, who according to him, were worried and often called him to ask why he had not yet been given any position by the President.

He said the NDC was a big family and that he was sure the President would still find favour in him by appointing him to any position.

Mr. Moses Dramani Luri, the Sissala West District Chief Executive (DCE), reminded the supporters that they were the party’s strength and should, therefore, throw their weight behind the leadership at all times.

This according to the DCE, would enable them to deliver on their promises, to make 2016 a walk over for the party at the constituency, regional and national level.

Mr. Abu Kansangbata, the Deputy Upper West Regional Minster, reminded the party supporters of the party’s branch and constituency elections that would be held soon and urged the people to look for competent persons and support them to contest for the elections.
