Not only is 2017 a very strategic year for Ghana as it marks 60 years of nationhood but also a good year for Christians to fly and soar like an eagle, Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International (PCI), Charles Agyin-Asare has said.
“This is the year of soaring for you and me. It means that in 2017, you will fly, you will stop walking. And know that traffic is always on the ground here [but] there’s no traffic upstairs and so 2017, get ready to fly, get ready to rise high,” the founder of PCI told his congregation on Saturday, 31 December 2016 during a Watch Night Service to usher in the New Year at the Perez Dome, Dzorwulu, Accra.
Apart from the significance of 2017 to Ghana and Christians in general, Bishop Agyin-Asare said the New Year is also very important to PCI because the church turns 30 this year.
PCI’s theme for 2017 is: Soaring. In tune with that, Bishop Agyin-Asare exhorted his congregation to soar like the eagle and refuse to be like chickens.
Like the eagle, Bishop Agyin-Asare prophesied that his congregation, in 2017, will “maintain height without struggle.” “It will be a year in which you’ll increase rapidly above the usual level. …In 2017, we’ll ascend to a higher and more exalted level as a nation and as a church,” he added.
