The Central Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress [NDC], Bernard Allotey Jacobs has alleged that some eminent members of the opposition NPP secretly meet with President John Dramani Mahama to discuss governance.
Allotey Jacobs who refused to mention names, was emphatic that, those NPP kingpins are clandestinely campaigning for the president to win next year’s election.
To him, the NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has no chance to win against President Mahama, a claim he said has been confirmed by the NPP gurus in their camp.
“Some prominent members in the NPP even want president Mahama to win election 2016. They always meet with the president to advise him,” he claimed on OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" morning show on Monday morning.
The ‘Educated Fisherman’ as he is affectionately called in politics, is of a view that, the NPP “is too confident of winning the upcoming elections”.
“They have not learnt their lessons from the previous elections. The NPP is just making unnecessary noise and using 'Dumsor Dumsor' as a yardstick to campaign against Mahama. We [NDC] will again surprise them,” he said.
