MP for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has disclosed that some diplomats are disappointed in president Akufo-Addo for always politicizing and claiming ownership of every project he commissions.
According to him, some members of the Japanese community who were present during the opening of the Tema Motorway interchange were appalled that the president failed to state that the project belonged to Ghana and not the NPP administration.
“I am a ranking member on the Foreign Affairs Committee. I can tell you that some members of the diplomatic corps are not impressed that the president politicizes every project he commissions. He bashes the opposition at every opportunity, talking about fantasy green books and so on. Some of them were present and they were very unhappy. For instance members of the Japanese community were present during the Tema motorway interchange commissioning where the president was talking about Green book projects. They were very unhappy,” he stated.
He also expressed dissatisfaction that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo never extends an invitation to members of the opposition party to witness any project commissioning.
“The NDC presidents will always invite their colleagues from the NPP to witness a commissioning but NPP on the other hand will never do same. Rather they try to take out the party’s contribution. It even eases the tension among so Ghanaians,” he established.
The MP also accused government of not giving the NDC due acknowledgements for their efforts which they constantly boast of.
