Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, engaged in a heated exchange with Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Communications Director for the Bawumia campaign team, over the ongoing controversy surrounding Parliament's sitting.

Both personalities were guest panelists on Joy News’ News File on November 9, 2024.

The exchange began when Dennis Miracles Aboagye stated that Alban Bagbin would go down as the ‘worst’ Speaker of Parliament in history, over his handling of the ongoing impasse over the vacant seats and the dispute over which caucus occupies the Majority side.

According to Miracles Aboagye, Sammy Gyamfi misinformed the public with false claims when he stated that Parliament had not received any communication.

He was interjected by Gyamfi who also accused Aboagye of being misinformed about issues of law.

Aboagye clarified that the Speaker himself confirmed receiving the Supreme Court’s communication, which stayed his ruling on the vacant seats.

However, Sammy Gyamfi argued that Miracles Aboagye, who isn't a lawyer, lacked the legal standing to comment on the impasse in Parliament.

Read excerpts of their exchanges below:

Aboagye: You lied, you said parliament had not received communication from the Supreme Court.

Gyamfi: You are ignorant and you don’t even understand what you are talking about. Supreme Court decision cannot be communicated but rather served. What are you talking about

Aboagye: Sometimes I wonder if this guy is a lawyer. I’m not a lawyer but I have common sense and can read. I have done social studies at least.

This is what the Speaker said ‘he has noted and received communication from the Supreme Court which directed him to stay his earlier ruling that declared four parliamentary seats vacant however, because they do not have all of the MPs present…'

Gyamfi: It is a lie, the Speaker has never said this.

Aboagye: He said it and I am quoting him…
