Space FM Dragged To Court

Space FM, Sunyani - Brong-Ahafo?s Best Radio Station, Space FM, has been dragged to court for daring to report on a matter pending before the Sunyani High Court 3, presided over by His Lordship Ato Assan. The station is to make its first appearance on Friday, January 25, 2008. "That the news item carried by 3rd respondent (Space FM) is prejudicial as it tended to determine the case on its merits even before the court has heard it on its merit"."That am further advised and verily believe the same to be true that the 3rd respondent(Space FM) is undermining the authority and respecct of this Honouirable court", the motion of notice said in part.

The Sunyani Police Commander, Superintendant C.T. Botwe and Rev. Nana Agyei Ntow of Acess To Justice, have also been cited for contempt.

Matthew Appiah ESQ of Twumasi and Associates, Sunyani, is praying the Honourable Court to commit the Managing Director of Space FM to prison for contempt of court.

On January 14, 2008, the Sunyani High Court 3, adjourned to January 21, 2008, the case before it between Madam Comfort Agyeiwaa and the family of the late Dominic Korang Kyeremeh.

Madam Agyeiwaa is represented by Matthew Appiah ESQ of Twumasi and Associates while the family of the late Korang was then represented on Powers of Attorney by Rev. Nana Agyei Ntow of Access To Justice, Sunyani, who was asked by the Judge to seek the assistance of a lawyer to deal with the technicalities in the matter.

The case was on Thursday January 24, 2008 again adjourned to February 5, 2008 after the family of the late Korang was representd by a lawyer.

The family of the late Korang is contending the legibility of Madam Agyeiwaa as the wife of the late Korang while Agyeiwaa has filed for a motion for interim injunction restraining the family from organizing the funeral and disposing of the properties of the late Korang till she is properly recognized as the wife of the late Korang.
