Spare Parts Scandal: Payments made to Service Auto Ghana will be retrieved – Ablakwa

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa

North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has vowed to retrieve all monies paid to Service Ghana Auto.

He argues that payments made to the organisation were illegal as it did not have Parliamentary approval.

He has also assured the people of Ghana of ensuring that no further payments are made to the company.

Making this known in a post shared via social media he said, he has also vowed to ensure that no further payments are made to the organisation regarding the purchasing of spare parts for the Ambulances procured by the current government.

"This week, I shall be escalating parliamentary oversight efforts aimed at compelling the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government to abrogate the sleazy, unconscionable and dubiously inflated US$34.9million ambulance spare parts sweetheart deal.

"We will do everything in our power to ensure the outstanding US$24.9million is not paid.

"We shall also initiate vigorous steps to have our US$10million (GHS120.7million) retrieved from the shady and discredited Service Ghana Auto Group Limited.

"Remember, this alarmingly corrupt transaction was not approved by Parliament, therefore, Ken Ofori-Atta had no legal basis to grant ministerial authorization for the US$34.9million heist, more so, to further instruct the release of US$10million.

"Meanwhile, I shall be fully cooperating with the OSP’s investigations following my complaint.

"May God help us win this latest battle against ugly destructive state capture.
