Spies Trail NPP Capos

Intelligence picked up by Daily Guide indicates the National Security and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) have recruited not less than 45 men to be used for a ‘special’ operation to silence some leading members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Deep-throat sources within the National Security set up said these 45 operatives were recruited from various parts of the country in the first half of this year and have undergone a series of tough physical, mental and psychological training to prepare them for this surveillance on the targeted NPP functionaries.

Attempts to speak to National Security Coordinator, Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey (rtd) proved unsuccessful since he did not answer his phone.

At the moment, Daily Guide’s sources have it that three national officers of the NPP including its General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, National Youth Organizer Anthony Abayifaa Karbo and Sammy Awuku, a Deputy Communications Director of the party, are top on the list of people detailed for surveillance.

According to a source, the three have been identified as those causing the most damage to efforts of the NDC, hence the need to silence or disorganize them and that some Chevrolet saloon cars have been specially bought and scheduled to be given to the security operatives for the purposes of trailing the subjects.

It was also revealed that the recent attacks on Awuku and Karbo were dress rehearsals by the specially-recruited security operatives in preparation for their main tasks.

Awuku was recently attacked in the neighbourhood of Roman Ridge, an incident which resulted in his car being broken into.

In the process, his personal belongings including his long-held laptop computer containing vital information and documents were stolen from the vehicle.

Not too long after, the Abelemkpe residence of Anthony Karbo was also raided by unknown assailants who made away with several of his belongings including laptops and a cash amount.

The source hinted that with the level of training given to the 45 operatives, there was little doubt that they would not succeed and that they would launch their full operations on the three individuals and others in a couple of weeks.

It was also revealed that the operations of this ‘special’ unit of the National Security, which is yet to be codenamed, would go hand-in-hand with media publications and schemes to destroy the personalities of the three NPP capos and cast their characters into doubt.

Indications are that some pro-NDC newspapers, radio stations as well as specific radio personalities have been identified, briefed and prepared for the diabolic agenda directed at NPP loudmouths.

Among others, it has been revealed that the special unit would, among others, use direct physical attacks, planned accidents, traffic offences and a host of other schemes to nail them.

Apart from that, some ladies were being sought to stalk the three in an effort to win their hearts after which these ladies would destroy the gentlemen.

Our source disclosed that already, the mobile phone lines of the three have been tapped and their calls are being monitored 24 hours each passing day.

When contacted, the targets indicated that they had equally heard of such a scheme in place and that they had been receiving numerous calls, with people asking them to stop criticizing the NDC since they were being observed from afar and that sooner than later, they would be dealt with if they did not stop criticizing the government.

The NPP General Secretary and his colleagues said they were unperturbed by some of these calls, messages and emails and that they remained fully committed to doing everything to see their party regain power.
