SPIRITAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE TO HOLD MAIDEN GRADUATION THIS MONTH
The spiritan University college(SUC) which formerly called the Spiritan Institute of Philosohpy is to hold its maiden graduation on the 19th June, 2010. The university which is one of the best private university colleges in Ghana was founded by a catholic religious group called the congregation of the Holy Spirit(Spiritans) was primarily to offer initial studies in Philosophy and Spiritual formation to young men who were desirous of becoming religious or dioceasan prists for the church. In May 2010, the institute which is at Ejisu, home town of Nana Yaa Asantewaa, Queen mother of Ejisu in the Ashanti Region was successfully affilitated to the Kwame Nkrumah University o Science and Technology (KNUST) having earlier received accreditation as a tertiary institution from the Ghana national accreditation borad. Currently the university college offers Bachelor's Degree Programme in Philosohpy and Social Scinec and Certificate Programme ion Philosophy and religious studies . The institstion is now open to non-seminarians including women. The maiden graduation is under theme: 'PROVISION OF QUALITY EDUCATION IN GHANA ; THE CROLE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH' eith Most Rev. Joseph Osei- Bonmsu, catholic Bishop of Konongo- Mampong as the guest speaker. The occasion will be chaired by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, Most Rev. Thomas Kwaku Mensah. His Royal Highness, Otumfuo Nana Osei- Tutru II, Asantehene will be the Special Guest of Honour.
