Spiritual Process for selection of new Akaboha

The leadership of the church have been praying earnestly to God to give us a new Akaboha after HIS own Heart since Agona Swedru High court affirmed the removal of the deposed AkabohaIII, according to Rev.

Jonasoma S.E. Jeho-Appiah, the Acting General Secretary of the Musama Disco Christo Church, seems to have had the Omnipotent hearing.

Speaking on behalf of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the church last Friday at Mozano, in the central Region, Rev Sammy as he is affectionately called said the church strongly believed that the All-Knowing God would surely provide the church with a new Akaboha at the right time to lead His people to victory.

“This explains why a spiritual exercise of prayers for the selection of the new Akaboha, is on in earnest,” he stressed.

On his expectations of the qualities of the new Akaboha, Rev. Jonasoma Jehu-Appiah, said they are expecting an Akaboha who would be prepared to work for the betterment of the church.

"We want think in consonance with God as he prepares elect an Akaboha who would bring discipline, as well as spiritually and physically development to the MDCC (Army of The Cross of Christ ) Meantime the leadership of the church has called on Ghanaians to treat reports carried in the Independent newspaper to the effect that there was infighting at the peace festival with contempt it deserver.

“We are surprise that some Journalists can stoop that low to concoct story about the church for monetary reward, “ stated Pastor Alexius Jehu-Appiah, the public Affairs officer of the Church.

Continuing, Rev Sammy said, “We are expecting God to provide us with an Akaboha who would push or draw the flock of the church closer to their Maker and rebuild the broken walls of the church. We want a God- fearing Akaboha who would allow God to direct all his movements and tackle all the issues affecting the church with the directives from God ,” he said.

When asked whether the church would be prepared to accept the deposed Akaboha III, back should the Holy Spirit of God choose him again to lead the church, the acting General Secretary intimated,” “we would not have any problem should the Holy Spirit decide to select the deposed Akaboha for us. However, one thing I know is that the Holy Spirit would never appoint the rejected to backpedal to lead the church . The Holy Spirit would not do anything which smacks of confusion,” he told The Sun.

He expressed grave concern about indiscipline that has cropped into the church as a result of recent developments leading to the removal of AkabohaIII. “I know that God would surely help us to weed out all the trouble in the church. We would surely overcome with the help of God,”he assured.

Rev Sammy, therefore warned all those who have capitalized on happings in the church to make personal gains to desist from that and abide by the sacrosanct rules.

According to him, it was wrong for some disgruntled people to create an impression that there was factionalism in the MDCC. He said as far as the leadership of church was concerned, there was nothing like factionalism in the MDCC. However he said there were some people who wanted to make personal gains as a result of the removal of the deposed Akaboha and were therefore spreading false information all over.

“Indeed we have problems with the deposed Akaboha which is known to the public, and as peace-loving people the case went to court and at the end of it all the court affirmed the decision of the leadership of the church only for disaffected people to cry foul and seek to destroy the Church. He regretted that instead of the disgruntled seeing reason, they want to make money out of the situation so they enrich themselves and are refusing to do the right thing.” he told The Sun in an interview.

He said the MDCC has a lot of laudable plans but due to unstable financial difficulties most of the projects have been shielded.

Rev Sammy therefore urged members to of the MDCC to intensify their prayers and seek spiritual welfare of one another.

He expressed concern about anti-social vices among the youth in the country and appealed to churches to rise up to combat the situation to save the future of the nation.

The Ag. General Secretary revealed that MDCC would be embarking on a nationwide seminars and workshop to sensitize the youth to refrain from the vices that would ruin their future.

He urged members to stand behind the leadership of the church in times of reason and out of reason.
