Accra, June 18, GNA - A circuit tribunal in Accra on Friday remanded in custody Kwame Togbe Nanevi, a sprayer, who raped a 10-year-old school girl on the bare floor of a public bathhouse. } Nanevi, 22, pleaded not guilty to rape and will appear again on July nine. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Alex Yartey Tawiah, told the tribunal, chaired by Mr Charles Louis Quist, that the complainant and the accused person live in the same house at Sabon Zongo in Accra. Inspector Tawiah said on June 13, this year, Nanevi lured the victim to accompany him to town and they ended up at Adjabeng, near the Head Office of the Cocoa Marketing Board.
He said Nanevi then took the victim to a public bathhouse where he requested for a place to shower.
After paying a fee of 200 cedis, Nanevi and the victim entered the bathhouse.
The prosecutor said after spending more that 30 minutes in the bathhouse, the attendant became alarmed and knocked the door but it was not opened so he forced it open.
To his surprise, the attendant saw Nanevi having sexual intercourse with the victim on the bare floor. A report was made to the Police and the accused was arrested.
