Excitement is building up in East Legon Accra as Springs of Joy Ministries International gears up for a mega health walk on Saturday, 14th October.

The health walk which commenced last year has quickly evolved to become a fitness, networking and community bonding activity on the church's calendar.

Saturday's event is expected to be bigger than last year's with a wider range of health benefits and a stronger emphasis on benefits of healthy living and recreation.

The Overseer of Springs of Joy Ministries Prophet Agyemang Prempeh has reinterred that aside from keeping fit and encouraging healthy living among Ghanaians, the walk will also be used as a platform to create awareness about breast cancer.

October is a month dedicated to Breast cancer awareness with the church offering free screening to all who can make it to the Bawaleshie Park on Saturday morning.

In addition to church members, there would be local community leaders, students from the various campuses around Legon, fitness clubs, jama groups and patrons are expected to converge at Bawaleshie park in East Legon at 6 am sharp.

One of Ghana's leading fitness instructors, Leonard Akoto and his Walkers Club team will conduct an aerobics session after the walk.

Participants have also been promised free breast screening as well as registration and renewal of National Health Insurance (NHIS) Scheme subscriptions.
