The 7th Inducted Headmistress of St Louis Senior High School (SHS), Mrs. Ama Kyerewaa Benefo has pledged to create a unique brand for the school which coincidentally is her alma mater to make it a prototype for other second cycle institutions in the country, emphasizing the need to protect the interest of the young girls enrolled in the respected Catholic school.
Mrs Ama Kyerewaa Benefo is the first old student to head the school and at her induction, also pledged to liaise with the relevant stakeholders including old students of the school to make it the beacon of hope and a centre of excellence for academic work.
“My supreme motivation in this endeavor is to give back to my alma mater and create a brand unique for our institution. The virtues espoused by the Catholic faith shall be paramount, the interest of the girl child shall not be sacrificed, the broad aim of education in Ghana shall be pursued for Ghana to be better”, she assured at her induction ceremony.
She indicated that her vision is to make St Louis SHS a world class Senior High School for other institutions to emulate from their traditions and systems stating that this is in line with the overall vision of the school to empower students to be relevant in the ever-changing world.
The Headmistress enumerated a number of interventions including the setting of staff goals, school conferences, excellence award schemes, the establishment of a strong science department, internet connectivity and counselling to help in shaping the overall vision of the all-female school.
To this end, she commended the St Louis Past Students’ Association (SLOPSA), the Metropolitan Arch Bishop of Kumasi, the Director General of the Ghana Education Service, the Board of Governors of the school, the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly and many others have contributed in diverse ways towards the progress of the school since she assumed office June this year.
She promised not to let them down in the confidence reposed in her to make the school star all desire to see.
