As part of the Ghana Culture Week 2025 activities, an inter-school debate has taken place at St. Thomas Aquinas S.H.S. Schools that participated in the debate are St Mary’s Senior High School, Tema Senior High School, Design and Technology Institute, and St Thomas Aquinas.

The defending champions, St. Thomas Aquinas, retained their title by defeating Design and Technology Institute in the finals.

Apart from the overall winners, the Most Knowledgeable Debater adjudged by the judges was Iris Bekoe of Tema S.H.S with Obeng Mary Acquah winning the prize for Most Eloquent Debater.

The judges for the day were Dr Sarah Dogbadzi and Dr Eyram Fiagbedzi, both of the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, and veteran playwright and actor, Abeiku Sagoe.

This year’s debate is the third debate since the Ghana Culture Week celebrations were expanded three years ago.

The Ghana Culture Week Celebrations are an initiative of the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) a civil society organisation comprising associations, organisations, and individuals in the cultural and creative industries space.

The Ghana Culture Week celebrations involve various activities, and last Friday, March 15, the GCF and GTA collaborated to mark the day with a symposium, a stakeholders forum, and the Taste 68@68 Food Fair at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra.

The theme for this year’s culture week is Our Culture, Our Strength: Shaping Ghana for Global Impact.
